ASH WEDNESDAY MASS
At the Ash Wednesday Mass at the Club,
Fr. Declan Blake was the one who changed bread and wine into the Body
and Blood of Jesus Christ. There were several of us there, and we
took part in the hymns, led bu Teresa Talbot on the organ. Paddy
Kelly's readings and Fr's homily impressed us all. Prayers were
offered for the repose of the soul of Kevin Moriarty, who died
recently. After Holy Communion Fr distributed Blessed Ashes. Tommy's
teas concluded the night.

VALENTINE PARTY
Colourful heart-shaped bunting greeted
members and friends, lending a romantic glow to the evening. Lively
dance music was played by DJ Cyril Hynes, and Ceili music got toes
tapping, with some old-time waltzes in between for the more romantic.
Wine and oranges juice were served, and
later Teresa O' Hehir sold raffle tickets, with nice prizes for lucky
winners.
All this exercise worked up a hearty
appetite, and thanks to Cait's culinary skills the display of food
was so appetising: juicy home-made apple tart, nutty brown scones and
an assortment of tasty sandwich, all complemented by refreshing cups
of Tommy's tea.
Thanks to St.Valentine and Committee
members, we had a lively and enjoyable Valentine Party.
