CHRISTMAS PARTY
Although
it was a cold chilly night outside,
inside
our Club premises was warm and inviting
with
Christmas atmosphere, and if you still felt
a
little chilled Maestro Paddy Kelly didn’t waste
any
time getting everyone up dancing to lively pop
classics
and the wonderful music of Johann Strauss.
And
determined further to getting the blood circul-
ating,
he introduced ‘Statue Dances’ and “Musical
Chairs”,
which was great fun. The dances brought
back
happy memories of popular party games in the
past.
A
relaxing break followed for refreshments as Tommy
had
a table set with a glass of wine or orange, and
Teresa
O’Hehir went around with tickets for prizes
to
be raffled later in the evening. So duly re-
freshed
we continued with our dancing.
Upstairs
the tables were set with Christmas fare.
We
tucked into tasty turkey and ham sandwiches,
Cait’s
delicious mince tarts and Christmas cake,
accompanied
by Tommy’s lovely cups of tea. After
that
we had our Raffle.
We
concluded our evening singing a selection of
Christmas
Carols accompanied on the organ by
Teresa
Talbot; a solo, “O Holy Night”, was sung by
that
wonderful voice of David Spain.
Thanks
to our dedicated Committee, Club members
and
their friends had a really enjoyable Christmas
Party
20l4.
