This is the month that the ABC Club was founded, back in 1970, before most of the present members became involved. Since then, Eileen and Martin Coen and their successors on the Executive Committee have continued to run the Club as best they could, to provide a pleasant place to make new friends and enjoy social life, and do some good work to help those less fortunate. 

Our Annual General Meeting will be held on Sat Oct 19th at 8.30pm, before Cards and Games. The members present will elect a new Executive Committee to help run the Club for 2013/14. A form is enclosed on which to nominate a member to the Committee. You may propose one member only, but you can second more than one, and ask other members to nominate those who are willing to serve, attend monthly meetings and help organise and/or run functions. Proposals on the Club's future are made and decisions will represent your wishes; to make them known, come to the AGM and express them. No one else can take your place! 

THE CLOSING DATE for NOMINATIONS is SAT OCT 5th NOMINATIONS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED AT THE AGM. 

Please hand completed forms to any members of the present Committee. The Club's ANNUAL BIRTHDAY DINNER-DANCE will be held in MAPLES HOUSE HOTEL, IONA ROAD, GLASNEVIN on SAT NOV 2ND, DV, with a 4-course meal, Cait's beautiful Birthday Cake, music by Pat O'Neill's Band, Raffle and Spot Prizes. Tickets, still €40, from Committee members, by instalment if you like.
