Bring and Buy Sale
Once again we had the “Sale of the
Century” well, a grand collections of bargains of all kinds,
Flowering plants, fruit, confectionery, books, CDs and DVDs,
jewellery, toiletries, bric-a-brac; a first-time feature was Cait's
fine array of hand-painted artworks personally inscribed with the
name of the recipient. Cait also ran the “Straw Draw”, with
excellent prizes for those fortunate to win them. Tommy presided over
the tea and cakes, which were much enjoyed by everyone there.
Thanks to all who came, brought and
bought, and helped to make anther success for our Club.
“Roving Reporter”
Mimes and “20 Questions”
Charades had most of those present
taking part in miming. Teresa Talbot illustrated the basis- film or
book titles, song, sounds like, how many syllables or words, first
word- so everyone could use the signs. Sometimes in great efforts to
express oneself the mimer would inadvertently exclaim vocally, only
to be reminded gently by Teresa of the need to observe the rules. It
was with some great mimes, “hunters” being very difficult to be
understood. It was good to see Agnes back agin and so often getting
her spoke in. A nice supper of savoury sandwiches, cakes and goodies
was enjoyed by all.
Cait then out us through “20
Questions”- Animal, Vegetable or Mineral being the vital clue given
had us all thinking, with many gaffes, but they had to be made at
times, “narrowing the field” which did yield success and fun.
Thank you, cait and teresa, for all the fun.
