REVIEW OF RECENT EVENTS

CHRISTMAS PARTY

“The weather outside was frightful, but inside was so delightful” as we had our last Christmas Party in the warm and cheerfully decorated “Earl” premises. DJ Paddy Kelly played a merry mixture of tunes to dance to; there was an abundance of seasonal fare – tasty turkey and ham sandwiches, Cait’s scrumptious Christmas cake and mince pies, Christmas pudding, and Tommy’s tea, with a glass of wine or orange to add to the festive atmosphere. Teresa O’Hehir sold Raffle tickets, so lucky winners took home lovely prizes. Paddy organised a session of Christmas carols, accompanied on the Club’s organ by Teresa Talbot, who also sang the beautiful Adolph Adam song, “O Holy Night”; that was followed by Deirdre Clancy with the moving “When a Child is Born”. Thanks are due to all who helped make it such an enjoyable occasion. We look forward to equally memorable future celebrations in Gardiner Place, DV.

If you’re choosing NEW YEAR RESOLUTIONS, may we suggest one – to come more often to the Club, especially in our new premises? They say “the more, the merrier”; let’s all make it so for 20l6.
