REVIEW OF RECENT EVENTS

JANUARY SALE

Once again our January Sale was organised by Patsy Collins and Dolores Dempsey. There was a wide variety of fine goods, at bargain prices, and many valuable prizes for the Raffle. We had a most
enticing supper, with lovely sandwiches and cakes, accompanied by Tommy’s tea, of course, and a great atmosphere of enjoyment. It was lovely to meet new friends and to welcome back “good as new” ones we hadn’t seen for a while. To end, Teresa O’Hehir made her debut as a very successful “Auctioneer”. The Club Committee thanks Dolores and Patsy, all who donated goods, all who came and all who  helped to make it such a great night for our Club.

ST VALENTINE PARTY

ABBA’s vibrant music and singing flowed at our St Valentine Party, lending a great boost to the
chilly night with members more than enthusiastic to get up and on the floor dancing. Our DJ Paddy Kelly wasted no time in getting the Valentine spirit into the party by offering a prize for the best dancer of the evening, which was won - and well-deserved - by Marie Geraghty.
At the interval we relaxed with glasses of wine and orange juice. Teresa O’Hehir took this opportunity to go around with raffle tickets. Then the music resumed as the wonderful voice of Joe Dolan filled the room, and we continued our dancing. When Tommy announced that supper was ready we ascended the stairs to be greeted by a display of appetising sandwiches, home-baked apple tart, iced and fresh cream cakes (lucky Lent is just around the corner) and Tommy’s refreshing tea. Thanks to Cait for the lovely supper and Tommy for his culinary skills.
After supper we had our raffle with lovely prizes for the lucky winners before the evening came to
a close. Thanks to all who gave of their time, members and their friends had a very enjoyable

St Valentine Party.

 Patsy Collins
