The film "Portrait of Jennie" centred around a lovely but mysterious girl, Jennie , ( played by Oscar-winning actress Jennifer Jones) who meets a struggling artist (Joseph Cotten). Intrigued and enchanted by her, he finds inspiration for his work, and his life begins to change. Based on a novel by Robert Nathan, the story weaves am unpredictable course. The background music, derived from works by the French Impressionist composer Claude Debussy, sets the scenes and matches the moods impeccably. Projectionist Paddy Kelly did the needful at the controls, and Eileen Murphy's fine supper completed a delightful night. Our thanks to them, and to all who came and added to the night's enjoyment.
