FILM NIGHT “HIGH NOON”
A convicted killer, released from prison, is coming on the noon train to wreak vengeance on the Marshal who brought him to justice. The Marshal, on the day he is retiring, is about to marry his Quaker bride when the news comes. The scene is set for a battle between good and evil, but personal reactions from the people concerned are not as expected. As time ticks away, the tension mounts, reinforced by the pulsating theme song, “Do Not Forsake Me, Oh My Darling”, and athrilling score by Dmitri Tiomkin. A classic Western, with excellent performances from Oscar-winner Gary Cooper, the lovely Grace Kelly and a fine supporting cast. Another great film night at ABC, rounded off by a delicious supper from Eileen Murphy and Tommy Ward. Special thanks are due too to projectionist Paddy Kelly, who made the whole event possible.
