Ash Wednesday Mass
We marked the occasion once again with the Holy Sacrifice of Mass celebrated by Fr. Declan Blake in our base. The ground floor of the Earl was tastefully prepared by Tommy Ward. We welcomed Fr Blake, he was impressed our new home, and gave a fine homily. Appropriate hymns were sung by those present, led by and accompanied on the club organ by Teresa Talbot. Blessed Ashes were distributed. Afterwards Teresa thanked Fr Blake for his great support for the Club over the years, and we all enjoyed a welcome cup of Tommy's tea and biscuits.

St Patricks Party
A green welcome greeted the party-goes as the ground floor premises were skillfully decorated with shamrocks and green bunting creating an atmosphere of celebration.
Francis Lawlor, our DJ, played some lovely old Irish ballads throughout the evening, giving ample opportunities for Ceili dancing in keeping with the spirit of the occasion. Whatever your taste in dancing, the lively music would have you up on the floor. Some members wore green and orange colours, adding to the party atmosphere.
We didn't quite down the shamrock, but gave a little sprinkles to wet its leaves when Tommy went around with glasses of wine and orange juice to toast our National Day. We were treated to a grand Cáit's delicious apple tart decorated with shamrocks in celebration of Tommy's tea.
After supper we had our Raffle, with nice prizes for the lucky winners - thanks to Teresa O'Hehir who sold the tickets. Then the dancing continued as the strains of Joe Dolan's wonderful voice rang out.
All too soon it was tine to take our leave. Thanks to Cáit and Teresa (T) for our fine supper, Tommy for the Catering and our DJ Francis for a very enjoyable St.Patrick's Party.

Post- January Sale
In response to request, Patsy Collins and Dolores Dempsey organised another of their popular Sales in the Club. It was decided to wait until we were installed in our new home to give us time to adjust to things, and March 8th was a good date. There was a very good selection of goods on offer, all at reasonable prices, so there were 'bargains' for all. A Raffle with several gorgeous prizes added to the night's excitement. Our sincere thanks to all who came, brought and bought items our great organisers.
