Review of recent events
Music Night
Feta cheese- Greek- olive oil with a sprinkle of red pepper, cream crackers and red and green grapes was available for those who liked savouries, the former was a bit much on its own, but with the latter two it was pleasant. Cake pieces and biscuits were also available and wholly made use of. Yes, this was the fare at our Music Night in July at the Club. A number of members came on from Holy Spirit Church in Greenhills where our late Chairperson Eileen Coen was remembered in Holy Mass. Her stepson had passed to Cait numerous photographs; they were much scanned before the tea-break. They depicted happy times, Eileen in the thick of things. Aptly I had brought down a records “Bringing on Back the Good Times” by “Love Affair” which went well for the occasion.
Cait spoke a few words telling of upcoming events in the Club. It was a Club record- The Gallowglass Ceili Band – which got Clubbers on to the dance floor.
Thank you, Cyril for his help on the night.

August 2010
To mark the first anniversary of the death of Eileen Coen, one of the Founders of ABC Social Club, who was Chairperson for many years, and seven years since her husband, Martin, who was the club’s long-serving President, died, the Holy Sacrifice of mass was celebrated in Holy Spirit Church, Greenhills in Dublin 12 recently. The Mass was attendee by several members of the Club, each with memories of the wonderful contribution Eileen and Martin made to the Club.
It’s hard to realise that a year has passed since Eileen was at the helm. It hasn’t been easy trying to manage without her, but we feel sure that she has been helping us in her own way all along, and will continue to do so, D.V.
May she and Marin, rest in peace.
